Youth Collegium

JULY 6-8 -- Prescott, AZ
We are pleased to announce the second Kingdom Youth Collegium will be a "summer camp" style, open air forum learning experience and invite you to join us on this new adventure! Youths 10 to 17, their parents, and anyone else who may be interested, are invited to spend two days camping in the cool elevations of Mingus Mountain (located about 18 miles East of Prescott) participating in a variety of workshops and activities.
Children younger than 10 are welcome to attend with parental assistance, very young children will best be entertained in the Children's Corner. There will be a Mixed Weapons Prize Tournament on Saturday for the adult fighters who attend. Come out and play with us! You might win a set of stainless steel gauntlets! The autocrats will organize plenty of other activities to interest the adults who bring their children to this event.
Saturday's Youth Collegium workshops may include: (READ AS...Looking for instructors in….) This is a camping event. Please be prepared for the higher elevation coolness and summer air dryness. The site is beautiful and is well shaded with tall pinion pines. The mountain air temperatures during the day should be between 85 to 90 degrees in July. The privies are vault toilets, one for ladies, one for men, and are both closely confined There is NO running water available on site. There are freestanding charcoal grills spread throughout. There is a central clearing for activities to be held with plenty of camping space on the perimeter of the campground. There are boulders along the road/parking area that will not permit a vehicle onto the actual camping area. Be prepared to *haul* camping gear about 100 feet. As this is a weekend dedicated to the Youth of the Kingdom of Atenveldt, we ask that the site be considered dry during the day. Animals are allowed on lead, but please consider others in maintenance of their keeping. We ask for trash to be contained, no glass containers, and all families should bring a shovel and fire extinguisher for fires, plenty of drinking and personal water, sunscreen and bug spray. For those who note the name of the campground, the “playground” actually consists of a swing set. A common Children's Corner for younger children's activities will be arranged. However, parents we will expect you to cooperatively manage this activity as there will be no dedicated staff for this area.
